Champion Stereo, 1887
E. & H.T. Anthony & Company, NY.

Anthony was one of the earliest American manufacturers of cameras and photographic supplies.
The Champion series of tailboard cameras were manufactured from 1887 to 1906 and offered in formats from 4 x 5 to 8 x 10 inches. Construction was mahogany bodies attached to cherry bases.
I have two Champion Stereo cameras. One has a pair of factory suppied EA lenses in their original brightly polished nickel condition including push-in style washers used for apertures.
The second camera has a rare, number matched pair of 1872 Morrison stereo landscape lenses. The lens board is marked with a Des Moine, Iowa photographer's name: Chas E. Long. Given the lenses are much older than the camera, Long must have liked their optical quality.
Included is an 1870s advertising card with a tipped in photo of Passiac Falls taken with Morrison's stereo lens.
