Flammang's Patent Revolving Back
This page has references for both Flammang's camera patterns. It is interesting to note that the cameras were offered for sale at the same time at the same price; yet the rear focusing model is a much larger camera. Although the two cameras are technically "field" cameras, the rear focusing version is designed along the lines of a studio view. The largest sizes of the front focusing model were offered with a detachable back.

Flammang's Rear Focus Pattern Reference, 1888 1888 reference for the rear focusing pattern; based on the Scovill Acme View Box pattern.

The text states that the revolving back has an advantage in that "the ability to draw the slide to the left enables the photographer to obtain a view which he could not get with the usual provision in a camera."
Flammang's Front Focus Pattern Reference, 1892 1892 reference for the front focusing pattern; based on the St. Louis Reversible Back pattern.
